Working days
Examples
What you get
Working days, counted
How many working days lie between two dates, with the weekends taken out.
And the weekends
See how many Saturdays and Sundays fell inside the range.
Days off come out
Enter how many days off you have and we subtract them.
We say what we counted
Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. Public holidays differ by country, so you enter those.
How it works
- Pick the two dates.
- If you like, enter how many days off to subtract.
- You get the working days, the weekend days and the total.
Worth knowing
Why holidays are not subtracted for you
Public holidays are different in every country and change from year to year. A calendar that is not maintained gives a wrong answer without saying so. We count what is the same everywhere — Saturdays and Sundays — and leave you the field for the days off you know about.
Both ends are counted
A whole month means the first through the last, both included. That is the number a payroll uses.
Frequently asked questions
Are public holidays subtracted?
Not automatically. You enter them in the days-off field, because they differ by country and by year.
Are both dates counted?
Yes. A range from 1 to 31 March includes both the 1st and the 31st.
Which days count as working days?
Every day except Saturday and Sunday.
Why does this differ from my company's calculator?
Most likely because your company also subtracts public holidays. Enter them in the days-off field and the numbers agree.
